Dallas tycoon Sam Wyly explains curious timing of his pro-immigrant book<\/strong> by Cheryl Hall<\/em><\/p>\n

Any day now, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Barbara Houser is expected to hand down a ruling that could mean financial disaster for Sam Wyly.<\/p>\n

But the 82-year-old entrepreneur, who turned a $1,000 investment and the idea of selling mainframe computer time into a family fortune worth more than a billion bucks by 2010, doesn\u2019t seem to be sitting on pins or needles about a potentially enormous tax bill.<\/p>\n

Instead he\u2019s focused on getting his latest book, The Immigrant Spirit: How Newcomers Enrich America, into the hands of voters. He thinks Super Tuesday is a perfect day to launch his compendium of major contributions made by new Americans and their offspring.<\/p>\n

The book is decidedly apolitical. Its author is determinedly not.<\/p>\n
